June 27 (Reuters) - The LPGA Championship, the second of this season's five women's majors, will be moved to a different date and venue for the 2014 edition, officials announced on Thursday. Next year's LPGA Championship will be played at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, New York from August 14-17, switching from its traditional June date to accommodate a 2014 LPGA Tour schedule where the majors are more evenly spread out. For the past four years, the event has been staged at the nearby Locust Hill Country Club, just three weeks before the U.S. Women's Open. ...

Chicago commission approves major renovations to Wrigley Field

CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Chicago landmarks commission voted Thursday to approve many of the major elements of a proposed $300 million renovation of historic Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. But the commission delayed until next month a decision on one of the most controversial portions of the plan - a 6,000-square foot video screen over left field in the 99-year-old ballpark. Accused Boston Marathon bomber charged in four deaths

The 30-count indictment filed in Boston federal court charges the 19-year-old ethnic Chechen with setting off two homemade pressure-cooker bombs in a crowd of thousands at the race's finish line and with committing a carjacking and engaging in a fierce gunbattle with police prior to his April 19 arrest. ...
