Venomous spider outbreak shuts British school  Tuesday, Oct 22, 2013 10:45 AM PDT LONDON (Reuters) - An English school has been forced to close after an outbreak of "false widow" spiders, the latest in a series of sightings of Britain's most poisonous arachnid. Dean Academy in the western Forest of Dean region would shut its doors on Wednesday while experts dealt with the eight-legged invaders, vice principal Craig Burns said in a statement. ... Vatican to field cricket team, take on Anglican Church  Tuesday, Oct 22, 2013 09:08 AM PDT By Philip Pullella VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - The Vatican officially declared its intention to defeat the Church of England on Tuesday - not in a theological re-match nearly 500 years after they split, but on the cricket pitch. The challenge was launched at the baptism of the St. Peter's Cricket Club. Vatican officials said the league will be composed of teams of priests and seminarians from Catholic colleges and seminaries in Rome. Colombian team don knock-off shirts after forgetting kit  Monday, Oct 21, 2013 05:42 PM PDT BOGOTA (Reuters) - Colombian side Independiente Santa Fe were forced to play in knock-off versions of their own shirts bought from street vendors outside the stadium after forgetting to bring their change uniforms to an away game at the weekend. Opponents Boyaca Chico, from the neighboring province of Boyaca, refused to switch to their own reserve uniform to resolve the bind caused by clashing colors of the two top-flight teams' regular kits. ...
